First Float Introduction and Tips

These are the steps we take when floating and recommend you follow to ensure the best experience possible.

  • You do not need to bring towels, makeup remover, soap, shampoo, cotton swabs, hair dryer or earplugs. We will supply these items.

    • You are always welcome to bring any of the items mentioned, if you have particular products that you like to use.

  • Swim suits are optional, but it is recommended that you plan on floating nude. You will have complete use of your own Private Float Suite for 1:30 hours.

    • Swim suits can become a distraction or irritant while floating and may introduce bacteria and dirt into the float room. They will also be very salty and wet when you exit.

    • Our private float suites include a generous changing and toweling off area, safety mats, shower, mirror and of course your own spacious flotation room.

  • After check in and introduction with one of our float attendants, please shut and lock the door to your float suite.

    • There is no need to adjust the lighting. It is motion activated and will turn off on its own.

  • Disrobe and Insert earplugs

    • We do it in this order to allow the earplugs time to expand and fully set before showering. Earplugs tend to fall out of wet ears.

  • Use ointment to cover small abrasions (i.e. around fingernails)

  • Remove any make up with provided wipe

  • Shower with lukewarm water, wash body and hair

    • Lukewarm water is important, so your skin temperature stays relatively close to the temperature of the float solution. This will help you to remain comfortable while floating.

    • Avoid a pre-shower that is too hot or too cold.

    • Soap is important to remove any residues or oils before entering the tank.

  • Take the hand cloth and dry your face before entering the float.

    • Water droplets on your face may become a distraction and could cause you to inadvertently touch your face.

    • There is no need to dry fully as you are about to enter the spa.

  • Place the washcloth on the handle of the tank while floating.

    • This is useful when you sit up to catch the salt water solution before it runs into your eyes.

  • What to do if you get saltwater in your eyes

    • Use the in tank spray bottle full of fresh water to rinse your face and dry with the washcloth

  • It is recommended that you float in complete darkness and silence

    • Lights and music are controlled by air-buttons within the float rooms. Instruction will be provided.

    • See the section below on claustrophobia or speak with one of your attendants if you have concerns.

  • Upon exiting, shower thoroughly, get dressed and drink plenty of water throughout the day.

  • The cotton swabs are for after your float to thoroughly clean salt water from your ears.

    • Salt water will dry and become gritty if left within your ears.
